She looks so sad…
Oddly I wouldn’t say she looked sad in this … Personally I think it shows her age. She is a small child and her physical age is young but her spirit and essence is much older than that. It has seen and been through so much to get where it is now, this look on her face maybe you could say is sadness but I think its determinations. She maybe young but she knows that there is something important she has to do even if she’s doesn’t understand it she just knows, She’s trying to be brave by not showing her fear a fear that is expected of someone so young but also not to show her sadness because she needs to do what she was sent there to do.
Her eyes are still, they focused, they are almost cold as if the young physical Chibi Chibi is no longer there but her essence and responsibility has taken over so she can face the task ahead. It’s almost like a defence resection to protect herself from the emotional side. I know she’s only a little girl but her eyes in this really show a different side to her, her determination and strength.
